Matthew Green
Producer & General Manager

Matthew Green is an independent commercial theatre producer and West End general manager. He created Nicholson Green Productions (NGP) in 2021 to develop a number of projects for the stage alongside general management consulting work and ongoing investment in commercial theatre productions. NGP is currently producing Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badger’s Drift which premiered at the Richmond Theatre in October 2025 and is touring the UK and Ireland into 2026.

NGP’s first production of Harry Hill and Steve Brown’s TONY! [The Tony Blair Rock Opera] premiered at the Park Theatre in 2022 prior to a UK Tour in 2023 and earned critical acclaim for its ‘colossally tasteless and highly entertaining’ take on the story of Britain’s first pop Prime Minister.

Alongside NGP, Matthew is Senior General Manager for InTheatre Productions and Colin Ingram Ltd after spending five years as General Manager for InTheatre working on a variety of productions including Grease (Dominion Theatre & UK Tour), Back to the Future – The Musical (Adelphi Theatre) and The Time Traveller’s Wife (Apollo Theatre). Prior to joining InTheatre Productions in 2019 he has previously helped manage productions for Mark Rubinstein Ltd including; Company (Gielgud Theatre), TINA – The Tina Turner Musical (Aldwych Theatre), SWEAT (Gielgud Theatre), Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (UK & Ireland Tour) and La Soirée (Aldwych Theatre & International Tour).

Matthew is a member of the League of Independent Producers and has also served on the SOLT negotiation committees for both BECTU and Equity. Before his time in production, Matthew nearly made the mistake of becoming a lawyer after earning his LLB (Hons) Law Degree from Durham University. He was also a NODA and D’Oscar nominated performer, but thankfully swapped his tap shoes for spreadsheets.

Matthew is proud to be a Stage One mentor and serves on their Small-Scale Commercial Investment Committee having been supported by the organisation throughout his career (and he thoroughly recommends them to anyone interested in pursuing commercial theatre producing).

He is incredibly grateful to Ali, Terry, David and Les for their invaluable support and advice.
